Project Planning

The Projects Engineer manages the county's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) through oversight of individual projects from the initial concept through construction. Duties include working with other departments and public entities, such as the Ohio Department of Transportation, Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, and local governments to identify safety, congestion, and structural problems on county roads and bridges; prioritizing proposed improvement projects; applying for state and federal funding; coordinating the engineering consultant selection process; monitoring plan development schedules and consultant payments; overseeing the acquisition of real estate needed for construction; and distributing Five-Dollar Permissive License Tax funds.
